林有年（1464-1552），字以永，号寒谷。明英宗天顺八年（1464）生于莆田县城里后埭（今属荔城区）的一个贫困家庭。幼年丧父，慈母抚养成人。有年自幼聪颖敏悟，性情直言快语，且能自奋笃学，勤读《四书》、《五经》，深受乡闾夸奖。
