叶 福 字叔畴，闽县人。建文庚辰进士，授刑科给事中。靖难兵起，福守金川门，死之。初，福见金陵势危，自期必死，乃遣家人归报其母，曰：“不得为孝子矣。”又尝语客：“孟氏所欲有甚于生，吾人心事不当尔邪?”建安杨文敏公与福同年进士，虽取舍异趣，然重其为人，福死二十余年，追铭墓。
