农业危机，是资本主义国家发生的农产品生产过剩危机。主要表现是：农产品长期滞销，价格持续下跌，农场主收入锐减，农业工人失业增加、工资下降，大批中小农户破产，农业劳动者的生活更加贫困等。农业危机是农业中资本主义发展的必然产物。其根本原因在于资本主义基本矛盾──生产社会化同资本主义私人占有形式之间矛盾的激化。在历史上，由于农业中资本主义的发展较迟，因而农业危机的出现也较工业危机为晚。第一次周期性的工业危机发生于1825年，而第一次农业危机则发生于1873年左右，相差约半个世纪。
