湄公河下游最大的支流。源于富良山脉南段，大致由北往南流，经老挝南部流入柬埔寨，于上丁附近汇入湄公河。流域面积23，500平方公里。阿速坡以上，河床嵌切在层叠的高原中，形成多级浅滩、跌水和瀑布，其中加丹瀑布高100多米。河中淘洗砂金。阿速坡往下，木船可通上丁。
