Speaking to Saul who had been king of Israel Samuel the prophet said; For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry.
说给以色列的国王扫罗，希伯来的先知说过“不服好似占卜的罪恶，傲慢好似邪神崇拜。”
The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel?"
耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？”
And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.
那时神的约柜在以色列人那里。扫罗对亚希亚说，你将神的约柜运了来。
And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles.

And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice.
扫罗把枪一抡，心里说，我要将大卫刺透，钉在墙上。大卫躲避他两次。
And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
撒母耳对扫罗说，我不同你回去。因为你厌弃耶和华的命令，耶和华也厌弃你作以色列的王。
And Saul said to David, thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
扫罗对大卫说，你不能去与那非利士人战斗。因为你年纪太轻，他自幼就作战士。
Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
大卫祷告说，耶和华以色列的神啊，你仆人听真了扫罗要往基伊拉来，为我的缘故灭城。
Now the donkeys belonging to Saul's father Kish were lost, and Kish said to his son Saul, "Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys."
扫罗的父亲基士丢了几头驴，他就吩咐儿子扫罗说，你带一个仆人去寻梢驴。
And Saul said, "May you be blessed by the LORD, for you have had compassion on me."
扫罗说：“愿耶和华赐福与你们，因你们顾恤我。”
And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.
到了苏弗地，扫罗对跟随他的仆人说，我们不如回去，恐怕我父亲不为驴挂心，反为我们担忧。
