He had a son named Saul, an impressive young man without equal among the Israelites — a head taller than any of the others.
于是扫罗招聚众民，要下去攻打基伊拉城，围困大卫和跟随他的人。
And Saul called up all his forces for battle, to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.
你回去告诉耶罗波安说，耶和华以色列的神如此说，我从民中将你高举，立你作我民以色列的君。
Go, tell Jeroboam that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'I raised you up from among the people and made you a leader over my people Israel.
圭必不离犹大，杖必不离他两脚之间，直等细罗(就是赐平安者)来到，万民都必归顺。
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
而且悲哀哭号，禁食到晚上，是因扫罗和他儿子约拿单，并耶和华的民以色列家的人，倒在刀下。
And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
推罗的民，(民原文作女子)，必来送礼。民中富足人，也必向你求恩。
And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.

When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the LORD said to him, "This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people."
于是扫罗招聚众民，要下去攻打基伊拉城，围困大卫和跟随他的人。
And Saul summoned all the people to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
罗波安王第五年，埃及王示撒上来攻打耶路撒冷，因为王和民得罪了耶和华。
In the fifth year of king Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the LORD, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.
罗波安对他们说：“第三日再来见我吧！”民就去了。
He said to them, "Come to me again in three days." So the people went away.

And he said unto them, Come again unto me after three days. And the people departed.

And he said unto them, depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

Rehoboam answered, 'Come back to me in three days.' So the people went away.
罗波安对他们说：“你们暂且去，第三日再来见我。”民就去了。
He said to them, "Go away for three days, then come again to me." So the people went away.
因为阿摩司如此说，耶罗波安必被刀杀，以色列民定被掳去离开本地。
For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
罗波安之父所罗门在世的日子，有侍立在他面前的老年人，罗波安王和他们商议，说，你们给我出个什么主意，我好回覆这民。
And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?
撒母耳看见扫罗的时候，耶和华对他说，看哪，这人就是我对你所说的，他必治理我的民。
And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! This same shall reign over my people.
