著名语言学家、教育家、徐州师范大学中文系和汉语学科的主要创始人廖序东教授，因病医治无效，于2006年12月12日不幸逝世，享年92岁。
Professor Liao Xu-dong, distinguished linguist, educator, founder of Chinese Department of Xuzhou Normal University and discipline of Chinese, died of illness on December 12,2006 at the age of 92.
