Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cui said that while bringing about new opportunities globalization makes some global challenges more severe.

"I believe some countries now are playing with fire. And I hope the U. S. won't be burned by this fire," Cui said, as quoted by the Wall Street Journal.

Mr Cui will represent China and Kurt Campbell, assistant secretary of state for the Asia-Pacific region, the US.
