While more companies are allowing employees towork when and where they wantto, they increasingly are limiting people's ability to take a leave or work part-time, the Families and Work Institute found in its 2012 National Study of Employers.
Mr Levenson adds that most of these part-timers, four out of every five, are people who do not wanttowork full-time because of family and other commitments.
And the measure of unemployment that takes into account people who have stopped looking for work but still want a job, as well as those working part-time because full-time work is unavailable, increased to 16.5%.
