Mr. Buckles said he hadn't known until less than a month before the July 27 start of the games that his company wasn't able to supply the required staff and blamed the problems on scheduling systems that had failed to effectively register the workers.
The trick is writing software and algorithms that tackle industry-specific problems, such as flight scheduling that keeps pilots below flying limits and financial models that account for the cost of currency exchanges.
