Shroud 2.0 allows users to zoom in on any part of the high-resolution digital scan of the shroud (first produced in 2008) and download more detailed close-ups for a fee.
How much is questionable, but the player did produce a better image when set to the native resolution of the set verse a standard progressive scan DVD player.
It also offers a progressive-scan, wide-screen, 60-frame-per-second MPEG-2 format that delivers far less resolution than full-fledged HD, but may work well when transferred to DVD.
