Shorting is when an investor borrows a stock sells it on the expectation the pricewillfall, and then buys it back at a later date, at a lower price, and returns it.
Short-selling is when an investor sells shares in a company they don't actually own, in the hope that the share pricewillfall and the shares can be bought back cheaper, to yield a profit.
