Both Red and Blue possessed microsatellites that can maneuver against other satellites, blocking their view, jamming their transmissions or even frying their electronics with radiation.
The company's computers do this by searching for correlations between the presence of particular microsatellites in individuals and the appearance of particular diseases in those individuals.
These differences between individuals (which are inherited from parents in the same way as other genetic characteristics) mean that studying microsatellites is a good way to see how a number of individuals may be related to one another.
