However, Jordaan and Khoza have put up a united front, denying allegations of tension between them.
Reuel Khoza, the new black boss of Eskom, the state electricity company, made a startlingly outspoken speech last year.

Last month there were widespread reports of a rift between LOC chairman Irvin Khoza and chief executive Danny Jordaan.
Jordaan withdrew after the Premier Soccer League, which is chaired by Khoza, questioned the 56-year-old's eligibility to run for the presidency.
Jordaan has been embroiled in a bitter battle for supremacy with LOC chairman and Orlando Pirates owner Dr Irvin Khoza for several years.
It remains to be seen whether Khoza's controversial past will come back to embarrass him and the South African 2010 World Cup organisers.
In the elections run-up, Fifa had warned that either Khoza or Jordaan would have to relinquish their LOC role should they win the presidency.
As well as running Orlando Pirates, Khoza is also a vice-president in the South African Football Association and chairman of the Premier Soccer League.
Yet unlike Jordaan, who has clearly retained the political skills that saw him serve as an MP in the 1990s, Khoza had no back-up option.
However, the chairman of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee South Africa, Dr Irvin Khoza, said that the tournament was now almost a reality.
Meanwhile, Khoza abandoned his candidacy after an early vote on a separate matter indicated that the numbers in a bi-partisan election were not in his favour.
In 1980, Khoza was appointed as secretary of Orlando Pirates, a team that his uncle once managed, but he was kicked out of the club after a year for reasons that have never been made clear.
Those sales have also led to problems when tax investigations showed Khoza had put the proceeds of the 1996 sales of Mark Fish and Helman Mkhalele to clubs in Europe into a trust account rather than that of the club .
