The struggling consumer electronics retailer this morning said sales for the 9 weeks ended January 5 were down 0.4%, with domesticsales down 1.2% andinternationalsales up 2.2%.
By the middle of the last decade, overseas contract orders exceeded domesticsales, and the company's position as a major player in the international telecoms market was cemented.
Its North American retail andinternational segments enjoyed the largest sales gains, as both increased by 6%, with the domestic gain driven by increased customer traffic.
The company just posted domestic same-store sales growth of nearly 5 percent during the fiscal fourth quarter and about the same percentage for its international stores for that period and for the full fiscal year.
