Conleth Gilligan led the charge with five well taken points from play in the opening half, with Paddy Bradley claiming two points inside the opening 35 minutes.
With substitutes Burke, Conleth Gilligan, Gavin Donaghy and Gerard O'Kane giving Derry renewed strength, Enda Muldoon then hammered over an inspirational point to restore the Oak Leafers' lead.
However, Dublin's attempts to play out time then floundered as Fergal Doherty, Conleth Gilligan and both the Bradley brothers hit points to leave a kick of the ball between the teams with two minutes of normal time left.
