David Pedwell, executive headteacher of Bryn Celyn and Oakfield Primary Schools in Cardiff, told BBC Radio Wales that "no-one disputes the fact that we need to improve standards".
"I think nothing of it, it is just away to say goodbye and sweep it all under the carpet, " said Betty Watkin-Hughes, whose family was forcibly moved from Capel Celyn.
"The drowning of the village of Capel Celyn in the Tryweryn valley was one of the most important political events in Wales in the twentieth century, " said BBC Wales Welsh affairs editor Vaughan Roderick.
And his tirade became even more inflamed when he referred to the controversial incident in the 1960s, when the village of Capel Celyn in the Tryweryn valley, near Bala in Gwynedd, was flooded by the Liverpool Corporation to provide drinking water for the city.
