Ed Bott over at ZDNet has an interesting theory. 1, 024 x 768 matches the size and aspect ratio of many popular reader-sized tablets, like the iPad Mini, which are meant to be used in both portrait and landscape orientations.

One of those is this new Qisda QCM-330 smartphone, which is said to be Android-based, and packs a 4-inch, 1, 280 x 1, 024 screen (supposedly, although the actual resolution will likely differ given the aspect ratio), WiFi and HSDPA connectivity, a 3 megapixel camera, and an accelerometer, among other, as yet unnamed specs.

Hardware controls include power, selection and volume up and down, while the smartglasses also gauge 3-degrees of freedom through head-tracking, alongside an integrated compass and GPS. The built-in camera is capable of 1080p video in 16:9 aspect ratio, although it'll be able to capture stills too.
